WHERE THE SUGA STILL SWEET had a majorly successful run as part of the We Will Dream: New Works Festival. Written by Brian Egland and directed by Lauren Turner, there were over twenty performances-all of which received the following critical acclaim:

"I first met Brian Egland last year at a literary festival here in NOLA. I was moderating a panel about character development. I knew from his responses and statements that he and I were communicating with the same people. Those people being the Ancestors. It's the same feeling I got when I first heard J. California Cooper speak on her writing process.

Anyway, last night I went to see Brian's riveting, smart and moving stage play: Where The Suga Still Sweet --- and baaaaabbbyyyy... when I tell you I laughed, clapped and cried??!!! Believe me!!

The actors were superb! The story, out-freaking-standing!!! and Lauren Turner Hines direction was exceptional! Where The Suga Still Sweet should be on Broadway....and fingers crossed -- I believe it will absolutely make its way there in the very near future.
